Transportation Access, Safety, and Connectivity (TASC) Build Grant Projects – Roadways

Greenville, NC

Project Description:

This project encompassed the complete reconstruction of over 1.1 miles of roadway through the heart of downtown Greenville. Work included all labor, equipment, materials, and supervision necessary to deliver a complex urban infrastructure upgrade. Key components of the project included the construction of two roundabouts, six signalized intersections, a soldier pile retaining wall, multiple segmental retaining walls, major utility relocations, and the installation of new storm drainage, water mains, and sewer mains. Additional improvements included new curb and gutter, sidewalks, lighting, landscaping, and other hardscape features. Due to its location, the project required heightened attention to access, safety, and coordination with local business owners and the traveling public.
