Russell Wetland Reserve Project

Project Description:

This project consisted of clearing / mulching and grubbing a combined 275 acres of a Carolina Bay ecosystem located in southwestern Bladen County, NC. This work was done in preparation for the construction of 5,500 lf of stream restoration including log erosion control structures, 6,050 lf of berm construction, 3,500 lf of wetland slough grading and 3-each water control structures. Follow on planting included 90 acres of Long Leaf Pines and 150 acres of water-resistant mixed hardwoods and 65 acres of various wetland live stakes.
