NC Port Morehead City – Berths 4 & 5 Improvements

Project Description:
This project consisted of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment required to complete the landside work associated with the Berths 4 & 5 Improvements. This work included all landside work associated with a 1,400 LF bulkhead replacement. Our work was comprised of 8,400 SY of 2 FT thick concrete pavement demolition, 1,900 LF of railroad track and switch removal, 850 LF of utility vault demolition and 3,650 CY of excavation. We constructed the new landside paving and utility structure to include 1,000 LF of new 6” DIP storm drainage including 32 EA new drop inlets and 10 each bulkhead penetrations along with 1,150 LF of 8” DIP water line with associated hose connection turnouts for ship service. We constructed 1,350 LF of new concrete crane rail foundation and the associated 6,250 TN of sub-ballast and ballast track foundation in support of new rail line along the improved bulkhead. All work was completed in various phases while maintaining regular ships port of call for the North Carolina State Port Authority.
