Airfield Security Improvements Project

Project Description:

This project included all labor, equipment, materials, and supervision to complete a construction contract for Level II security upgrades at MCAS Cherry Point’s airfield as required by Marine Corps Order (MCO) 5530.14A Marine Corps Physical Security Manual. In general security upgrades included security fencing, motorized vehicle gates, pedestrian turnstiles, and new patrol access roads. This project included the demolition and replacement of Building 3891 (a single-story 3003 SF storage building); clearing & grubbing 18 AC; removing 960 LF of railroad track & ballast, placing 33325 LF of silt fence, 3055 LF of tree protection, 1090 LF of Jersey barrier, 14475 LF of compost sock, and 12 AC of seeding; performing 21065 LF of swale grading; 2187 SY of concrete, 18121 SY of asphalt, 30707 SY of gravel pavement, 29 LF of box culvert (240″x72″), 70 LF of concrete trench drain, twenty-seven (27) culvert grills, 945 SY of turf reinforcement mat, 5238 LF of pavement markings, 1910 LF of sheeting, 1910 LF of concrete cap on sheeting, 1785 LF of guiderail, and all associated utilities/incidental related work to provide a Level II restricted area for designated portions of the airfield.
