Trader Construction Company earned a 2020 Carolinas AGC Pinnacle Award (Best Utility Project) for successfully completing the Town Creek Culvert project, a complex stormwater infrastructure upgrade in Uptown Greenville. The project involved replacing and upgrading a deteriorating stormwater system that served approximately 250 acres. Working simultaneously from both ends toward the middle to meet tight schedules, the team navigated the challenge of installing a new box culvert through dense urban utility infrastructure while maintaining active service. Through careful coordination with multiple stakeholders and innovative value-engineering solutions, the project saved the City of Greenville $750,000. The project was completed on time, under budget, and with zero safety incidents, despite the complexity of working around multiple utilities in an urban environment.
